In addition to working as a full-time professional actress, I also pursue my second passion -- teaching Children’s Theatre!  I believe the arts (and the many benefits that come from studying them) can be a very important aspect in a child’s life. Even if a student is not interested in pursuing a career in the arts, the skills they acquire -- public speaking, team building, independence -- last a lifetime. And let's not forget the boost in confidence!

I currently work with Columbus Children’s Theatre where I teach children in Pre-K through 12th grade.  I teach acting classes, including: Beginning Acting, Acting Essentials, Comedy, Stanislavski, Meisner, and an Introduction to the Theatre.  Also, Musical Theatre Dance classes, including:  jazz, ballet and beginners tap. And, lastly, Musical Theatre Vocal classes where we focus on children’s favorites like Disney and Annie, the classics like Rodgers and Hammerstein and contemporary musicals.  I have even taught a full week of Harry Potter themed classes -- I really do have a great job!

In addition to these group classes, I also offer private acting lessons where I really get to do some fun character study with my students. We break down scenes and monologues so we can better understand the character, their back story and personality traits. Once we have a better understanding of the character, we can dive into the monologue or scene being presented and address the character’s goals, expectations, the obstacles they have to go through, and what kind of tactics they will use to reach their goal.

I work with students who are beginners, experienced students and those prepping for the perfect college experience -- whether they are looking for a career in the arts or just the confidence an arts education can provide.

If you're interested in either a group class or one-on-one time, you can find information on how to get started and register on my contact page!
