My mother, also my biggest supporter, sent me a link to an article written by Chris Peterson, OnStage Editor in Chief. In his article, Peterson discusses the idea that if your name does not appear on a Broadway marquee or you fail to win a Tony then you're considered a failure. An idea shared by many. Peterson then goes on to list the many reasons why this idea is absurd and the skills theatre majors bring to businesses, communities and the world.
I love this article. It's the truth and reminds me to continue to define my own success and find ways to continue doing what I love whether or not I "make it big" by anyone else's standards.
